Urban Informatics: Public Safety Data Training for all Boston Communities
BARI in collaboration with City and Community Engagement will host a public safety data training for local communities.
About this event
This joint collaboration with BARI and City and Community Engagement will provide data training on the Boston Data Portal for Boston communities. The training cover the Boston Data Portal, an online platform where visitors of all experience levels can browse, map, analyze, and download a variety of data describing the people, places, and neighborhoods of Boston. We welcome you to our community-based training. It is our goal that this training provides you with a tool to gather pivotal data and helps you think about how data can be used to help generate advocacy solutions for broader themes and issues that are impacting your quality of life. Given we are beginning to build back from a crippling pandemic, we believe data can help catalyze an equitable future for everyone, not only a few.
This training will help participants:
-Learn more about the communities you serve;
-Support the goals of the communities you serve; and
-Promote informed advocacy centered on your particular goals.
If you have any question regarding the Boston Data Portal, gathering data or research specific questions do not hesitate to contact us at bari@northeaster.edu and our data-consultants
